On April 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM, the classical music concert titled “East In The West: Sounds, Minds, and Dharma” was held in the main hall of Fo Guang Shan Xiang Yun Temple. Co-organized with the nonprofit organization Classical Music For The World, the event was free and attracted over a hundred music lovers and cultural enthusiasts.

In her opening remarks, Venerable Jueji, the temple’s supervising nun, noted that music can transcend the boundaries of religion, culture, and language. She then solemnly recited the first line of the Three Refuges, guiding the audience to experience the pure and dignified chant of Eastern Buddhism and officially opening the event.

The performance featured a collaboration between cellist Francesco Mastromatteo and guitarist Noemi Passiatore, with a selection of classical pieces by renowned composers such as Granados, Figliola, Tusiani, Morricone, and Gnattali.

The atmosphere was warm and solemn, with the audience immersed in a blend of music and Zen spirit. Each piece was met with enthusiastic applause. The event concluded successfully, reflecting Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s vision of promoting Humanistic Buddhism through music.
