Austin Xiang Yun Temple and Magellan International School Celebrate Lunar New Year

In a festive and joyful celebration of the Lunar New Year, Austin Xiang Yun Temple and Magellan International School joined hands to host an event on January 31. The two grand gatherings attracted over 300 students and faculty members, creating a rich festive atmosphere and cultural experience.

The event commenced with a spectacular lion dance performance by the Fo Guang Youth Lion Dance Troupe, captivating the students who were thrilled to watch up close. The performance was followed by a martial arts demonstration by Coach Chen Rui, who received enthusiastic applause. Additionally, the Xiang Yun Temple band performed melodious music, and Landry shared insights into the history and culture of Xiang Yun Temple, filling the venue with joy and blessings.

Andrew Lenuso, the principal of Magellan International School’s secondary division, highly praised the event, expressing gratitude for Xiang Yun Temple’s support. He looked forward to future collaborations to provide students with more cultural experiences. He emphasized that the school is committed to fostering international perspectives and cultural inclusivity, and this event allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of Buddhist culture while receiving spiritual inspiration.

Venerable Jueji stated that future efforts will continue to promote cultural exchanges, enabling more young people to learn about Buddhist wisdom and the spirit of compassion, thereby fostering community harmony and cultural diversity.
