On the afternoon of July 27, Xiang Yun Temple in Austin invited Dharma sister Deng Xiaoling from IBPS Dallas to introduce and conduct a Q&A session on the paper relief course for about 15 participants. At the invitation of Venerable Jueji, Dharma sister Deng Xiaoling brought over 20 paper relief artworks to Xiang Yun Temple specifically for this course. Originally a nurse, she and her family immigrated to the United States, where she has since served as the Executive Director of the Buddha’s Light Private School. Since 2009, she has been self-taught in the art of paper relief, creating countless exquisite works displayed at the IBPS Dallas, where she also teaches. After appreciating her works, Venerable Hsin Ting praised her highly, noting that the entire process of creating a paper relief work requires great patience, focus, and persistent effort, which in itself is a form of meditation and practice. For the next 50 years, Fo Guang Shan aims to cultivate talent through education and integrate culture, sports, music, art, and daily life, adhering to the spirit of the Buddha's compassion to spread the truth, goodness, and beauty of Humanistic Buddhism, practicing the Three Acts of Goodness and the Four Givings, and collectively creating a harmonious and happy society of the Five Harmonies.
