Venerable Jueji of Xiang Yun Temple warmly welcomed the faculty and students, giving them a tour of the temple and introducing the origins, history, and cultural heritage of Xiang Yun Temple. Brad Jacobson, Vice President of Austin BLIA, and Tam Nguyen, President of the English Branch of Austin BLIA interacted with the students, providing them with a profound understanding and development of Humanistic Buddhism in the United States.
In addition to participating in morning services and practicing Dharma services, the students led discussions on the “Three Goodness” from Master Hsing Yun's "Buddha Dharma Pure and Simple” during the Wednesday night online English study group. They also visited the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas State Capitol to experience American culture and customs.
On Independence Day, the students were invited to a gathering at the home of volunteer Phillip Johnson.
