On Saturday morning, June 22, Rev. Brewington, President of the Interfaith Action of Central Texas Group (iACT), led approximately 30 members of the Passport Program to visit the temple. Tam Nguyen, President of the BLIA English Sub-Chapter, hosted the group and offered the tour through the meditation hall and the outdoor octagonal Guanyin pavilion. They then entered the Treasure Hall of Great Hero to participate in the weekly English Dharma service.
The Xiang Yun Temple house band warmly welcomed the guests with joyful music. Venerable Jue Ji delivered a welcome speech and introduced the members of the iACT Passport Program. Rev. Brewington expressed his delight in leading the Passport Program members to visit Xiang Yun Temple, promoting mutual understanding and respect among the diverse religious groups. The visitors also participated in the English Dharma service, offering lamps before the Buddha, listening to Venerable Jue Ji’s discourse of the "Eight Realizations of Great Beings Sutra," and engaging in group discussions. They expressed great admiration for the format of the English Dharma service.
After the service, many visitors were invited to have a delicious vegetarian meal, interacting warmly with the members of the BLIA English Sub-chapter. The guests and hosts thoroughly enjoyed the exchange of friendship and faiths.
