On May 12th, following the Sunday practice session, the Austin Fo Guang Shan Chinese Subchapter hosted a Mother's Day celebration attended by over 120 people. Four young chilren, accompanied by piano and clarinet, first offered tea and flowers to the venerable at the temple, expressing their gratitude. The following performances included parent- child singing, tap dancing, and dances by children and teenagers. Shi Lei, representing the Fo Guang Members, shared touching moments between the children and the venerable with the audience.

In the melodious performance of the steel tongue drums, Venerable Yong Jia showcased live calligraphy, exuding endless Zen. The Hawaiian dance led by Sisters Zhou Li and Chen Rui was refreshing like a spring breeze. The Fo Guang children’s sign language song performance, "Mother, I Love You," moved the entire audience.

Finally, the Fo Guang youth presented exquisite flowers to the mothers present. The monastics and laypeople joyfully shared a cake together and took happy group photos, concluding this warm Mother's Day celebration on a perfect note.
