On March 2nd, at 9 am, Venerable Bao Luan, representing the Tu Bi Quan Am (Houston Compassion Guanyin Temple), led a group of 75 devotees on a visit to the Xiang Yun Temple in Austin. Joining them were Bhikkhunis from California, USA.
Welcoming the guests, Venerable Yongjia led the volunteers in singing two songs of hospitality. Following the exchange of New Year's greetings, Venerable Yongjia guided the assembly in reciting the Heart Sutra, dedicating the merits accrued. Additionally, Venerable Bao Luan offered prayers and praises to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in Vietnamese.
The guests were captivated by the festive New Year decorations and various exhibitions within the main shrine, with particular admiration for Master Hsing Yun's Dharma teachings on the Dharma Wheel and wish cards. Their most cherished experience of the visit was receiving teachings from Master Hsing Yun.
Venerable Ru Yuan thoughtfully prepared a warm welcome for the guests, serving "Ginger Lemon Tea" and "Fried Spring Rolls." As they departed, they were bid farewell with the song "Buddha’s Light Shining Upon You," taking with them not only the special gifts but also the cherished bond of joy as they embarked on their temple visits to welcome the new year.
