On January 21st, the “Volunteer’s Appreciation Dinner” was held at Xiang Yun Temple. Nearly 70 volunteers gathered with four Venerables to share a warm and joyful time.
The event was beautifully decorated, with each table adorned with meticulously crafted preserved flower lamps made by the volunteers. Venerable Jue Ji delivered a welcoming speech and offered blessings to the volunteers. Everyone enjoyed sumptuous vegetarian meals.
After dinner, there were various entertaining performances. The Lucky Dharma band brought passion and energy to the event; the Choir sang two songs, "The Buddha in Your Heart" and "Lighting the Lamp," with the Venables; and the Fo Guang Youth presented graceful dances!
During the volunteer sharing session, Lily Zhou, Samantha Yang, Landry, president of BLIA YAD, and Josh, president to UT YAD, all shared their experiences, expressing their hopes of self-improvement through learning Buddhism. Everyone thanked the temple for providing them the opportunity to shine and show what they’ve got.
The evening finished with Venerable Jue Ji distributed coins for the Year of the Dragon and conducted a prize draw. Everyone had a joyful evening and left with Dharma joy.
